Audio controls while using bluetooth

I have my MoPho paired with Ford Sync and use this to listen to DoggCatcher (podcast player). The issue I'm having is that when I'm listening to a podcast there are times when I either hit fast-forward or rewind and it will skip to a different podcast or it will even jump to a different source and start playing that (i.e., Motorola Music). I didn't have this issue with my old Samsung Moment, only the Photon.

I've been able to narrow the issue down to when the screen is off. When the screen is on everything functions properly but when it goes off the controls perform the wrong command. Someone suggested I enable bluetooth bypass but that didn't work. Any suggestions?
