Been seeing lots of talk about how Sprint will be ditching 4G WiMaxx and while that may be true eventually, they are paying almost 1 billion dollars to keep it going for at least 2 or or 3 more years it seems.....personally, i'm not very impressed with 4G wimaxx. I'm in the chicago suburbs and I get a signal often enough, but it drains the crap out of my battery and it's hit or miss and it goes to sleep alot without waking up when i need it to....so i leave it off the majority of the time anyway.

I wish I bought this Clearwire stock yesterday - it's up 30% today on the following news:

Under the deal struck, Sprint will pay Clearwire a total of $926 million?roughly two-thirds of which will be paid in next year?for unlimited 4G WiMAX retail services during 2012 and 2013. Sprint will have access to Clearwire's WiMAX network through at least 2015.

No LTE phones until 2013, but no additional tower upgrades. Think I'll be saying goodbye to Sprint.
