How do I remove the Block on MicroSD to transfer files and Media?

I have an AT&T Samsung Captivate. I can no longer transfer files or media onto the card from my pc via a USB card reader, it has a block on it now. How can I unblock the card to start transfering again? Help!!!

I am not familiar with a block on the sd card. What happens if you leave the card in your phone, and just connect the phone to your computer and access it that way?
