The best way is open a new folder on your mac, transfer all your pictures from your phone to the folder and then select all and move them right into iphoto. Thats how I did it , its an extra step but it works great.
The exif files stay intact when transferring. Can you please explain the problem?
They don't, or at least iPhoto is not picking them up. I have the same issue as OP and marcin001. When I copy the photos on my SGS3 to my MacBook Pro's desktop via Kies Air, then import them into iPhoto, all of the photos get put into one "event".
I don't have a solution, unfortunately. Like OP, this may be a deal-breaker for me to go back to iOS. Will keep trying, though.
I think you should have your photos automatically upload to google plus, then from there you can access them from your computer or wherever. That would be the easiest.
Just came across this, looking for a solution. All of the solutions mentioned above are klunky two-step solutions, and don't really allow you to keep a clean pipeline of transferring, then deleting photos/videos off your phone.
Is there really nothing like Sony Media Bridge or Nokia Multimedia Transfer for Samsung phones? How can Samsung be the #1 smartphone manufacturer in the world without such basic support for the Mac?
Jeez...
Drop box, and drag photos to iphoto or aperture. That's what I do. And you can select the photos you want to go on your library instead of having everything dump to to photo stream and everything goes into your library.
