OK folks we all love our little phones, but we have a pretty big problem. The way that ICS/JB deals with video is different than how it was done in Froyo or GB, I won't get into the details cause honestly I only sort of understand them. But long story short we need a codec (or source code) for Openmax, this will give us better camera support, video playback that doesn't overheat our CPU's and a few other video related details. The problem is that basically Qualcomm doesn't want to help us out. They say that they unable because the architecture wont support it, however a number of developers and electronics engineers disagree due to the fact that slightly modified version is used in products that support ICS. So more than likely what we have here is a case were Qualcomm somehow thinks their going to loose profit by releasing this. We need to pressure them into releasing the codec/source code any way we can. Currently there are a few petitions dealing with this please sign them. In addition please send them feedback also. We got LG to give us GB lets get Qualcomm give us Openmax!
