My HTC sensation wont turn on

My htc sensation wont go past the htc boot screen.
When i turn it on the black led screen goes on then goes entirely black then it vibrates an goes to HTC screen but then it wont go pass there! I tried adb but since it doesnt go pass that it wont reckonize it. Also i can boot into recovery! Also i am not rooted.
I really need help!
I have tried to root but i cant because it wont fully boot

Can you get into the bootloader? With the phone off, hold volume down and power until it pops up.

It worked for me thank you! Holding the power button and the volume down button at the same time.

How long to I keep the volume button down and power button simultaneously to reboot as I have done it my screen still blank but the led flashes red then green and the buttons are on
