Can a Note 3 on T-Mobile pick up a signal better than an iPhone 3GS on T-Mobile?

Kind of an odd question, I know.

But I presently have an iPhone 3GS on T-Mobile (factory unlocked). On the 2nd floor of my house it picks up T-Mobile's signal pretty well. But on the 1st floor where my word desk is, it often gets "No Service".

I'm thinking of getting a (used) Note 3, obviously. Wouldn't mind having a bigger phone. But it's got to be able to pick up T-Mobile's signal, better than my present iPhone 3GS does.

Does anybody know if the Note 3 (on T-Mobile) would pick up the signal any better?

I have a Note 3, with T-Mobile service, since December, 2013. I also have Charter Internet. I've always had problems with T-Mobile Data, sometimes connection is as bad as .2MB (yes, that is point two !!!), up to as high as around 20MB. Usual connection is around 3-5MB.

My Charter connection is usually (around 90% of the time) rock solid, between 65-67MB, which is awesome !!!

When I'm cycling around town, my Internet connection, which is only with T-Mobile, obviously, is spotty, constantly dropping. Even lose GPS, Location, as well as Internet connection.

I still like my Note 3, which has been my main computer since December, 2013. I also have the Gear S, which is a nice companion to my Note 3.
