Camera setting question/issue

I've been using the Panoramic feature often here recently. The only problem is that when I switch back to take a single shot, it's back down to .3M. Is there a way to save a setting for each type of picture (single, continuous,etc.)? It's a bit of a pain to have to go into the settings each time and switch back to 8M.

Theres the same problem with switching from rear to front camera. If you leave it at front and close it, it says at 1.3mega pixel for the rear camera next time you open it.

Yeah, pretty annoying.
