Splashtop 2 desktop software questions

Any opinions on the Splashtop desktop software you have to install. I've seen a couple comments around where people had issues with it messing with their machines (running a lot of processes and mouse issue). Just checking before I took the plunge. I didn't know if those were outliers or something common I didn't stumble across yet in my research. Thanks!
