once i put that in my device was swiped and telus icons appeared...

so my question is is the firmware changed to telus now?or still based of rogers?

and since all this and updating to kitkat my wifi will not turn on..

Your phone is unlocked now, so you will no longer get OTA updates since it was Rogers, and is now Telus. Any updates would have to be done via KIES or you can root. But long story short. The firmware is still what you last received on rogers.

You will like Telus a LOT more, at least people in my area do. My GF is on Rogers and she has been having signal issues everywhere, no issues with Telus. But then again, depends on the area I guess.

ah ok..what about the wifi issue??

That makes no sense at all. I have KitKat and my Wifi is just fine. And you've done a factory reset? Not just a battery pull correct?
Does the WIFI icon actually NOT light up? I mean it won't turn on, or is it ON and just won't find any networks? Can you
take a screen shot?

I'm having the same issue. I have just unlocked a phone from Rogers to Telus. Texting, phone calls and even my data works perfectly fine. But when I try to turn on the Wifi toggle, it stays grey and will not turn green and turns back to grey automatically. I've noticed that the same thing happens to the Bluetooth toggle.

I'm not sure if this is related but my father has an s4 and he is with Telus originally. I've looked at the settings to see what was different from my unlocked phone and I found that my network mode had different options. My father's is LTE/WCDMA/GSM whereas mine was GSM/HSPA/LTE and I have no option for WCDMA at all. As I have said, I'm not sure if it's related but just thought someone could help?
