Danny, I had a six month stretch of unemployment and depression, lost my car (10 payments from owning it!) and apartment, had to get rid of most of my stuff...typical bad economy goings-on. I still have my books and art stored with a friend up in Denver, but otherwise I own a suitcase of clothes, a cat, a laptop, two Pre3s, a TP, and my One S. It sucked to get rid of a lifetime's accumulation, but it was also kind of freeing.

Your my new hero! times like those IS a true test of character. Last year was very horrible for me,, not as bad as yours but to close for comfort. Things have been getting better the last 6 months but still had life shattering stuff happen due to economy and bad luck. just trying to let you know your not alone, I feel your pain. WE SHALL RISE FROM THE ASHES LIKE THE PHENOIX (I'm sure I spelled that wrong, lol)

Been there, done that.....several times! I'm still going strong, just a bit reluctant to amass a lot of possessions, again. After 3 such adventures, I find myself preferring as much digital content as possible....... I can back that up in multiple cloud storage sites for free.

I'm such a nester. And I have rare/out-of-print books and original art. So at least I could hang on to that stuff. Clothes and furniture and kitchen stuff is mostly replaceable, and I'm definitely gonna try to accumulate less stuff this time around. Haven't bought non-digital music or books in a few years now so that's good.

Many don't understand it, though I'm sure you'll have a better idea, since I've been there several times....But I have a problem now developing attachments to much of anything, including people.......and even less of them now, because someone I considered a special friend, who knew this, turned into a jackass. :-(

I do have a better idea, now. And it sucks that someone did that to you. I am really going to choose not to be attached to more than I can carry any more, just in case.
