1.14 GB available space - Amazon store wont let you download

Have well over 1GB of space left available according to the Device menu and am trying to download a couple more tv show episodes that are typically in the 200MB range. No dice. Big warning comes up that internal storage space is "low" and it doesnt let me download anything.

This seems like a serious bug to me. If I have almost 1.2GB of space left - seems like I should be able to fill those up however I want.

To clarify, I have "1.14GB of 6.54GB available" - not 1.14 of the 8.

Seem to have answered the question.

1.5GB are taken up by system files
1 GB is partitioned for apps ONLY

That leaves 5,.5GB of usable space for media files.

Wish I had known this up front. Really love this device but every day that goes by I seem to run into one more small thing on top of another.

Yeah Im a bit confused too, There is only a certain amount of space partitioned for apps? i cant install apps in the internal storage partition ?

Just noticed this today with the update. Shows space for apps and then space foe movies and such. Haven't had any errors or pop ups saying low memory.....yet!
