I decided to return my Nexus. I'm going to monitor its progress and hope I can jump back in in the future.

I exchanged mine and so far, the speaker is far better - no more crackling and popping sounds. The signal is the same - low 4G, switches back and forth from 3G to 4G alot. The screen on this one looks just as gorgeous but it is less responsive to touch.

I haven't used it enough for voice to know if it will drop calls like the other one did.

Today's the final day for Holiday returns. Time to fish or cut bait. :)

I cut the cord. It was nice but there are issues that made me nervous. I know updates from Google will be steady and on point. My guess is hardware issues will have to be updated by Samsung & not Google. Having come from the Fascinate & Charge, it will most likely take Samsung months to address.

So far 9% of Android Central members have responded that are returning their phones. That is about the rate in all of our return surveys.

Our Introductions thread shows that many or our new members are here because they are having problems or love phones. Most make a post so that they can see the links and images and never post again. Only about 10% of Android Central members (68,000/650,000) will make more than 1 post, the ones who love phones.

The average smartphone user keeps a smartphone for nearly 2 years. We have members who change phones every few months. We are the ones who typicallywant the coolest new phone. Other users want a phone that just does what they need.

So what this survey is showing is that of people who really love the latest phones and change phones more often, less than 10% are returning the Galaxy Nexus.

A 9% return rate is typical for us. Ask a Verizon store manger and they will tell you that the Galaxy Nexus return rate is actually much lower than that.

I exchanged my Nexus for a Rezound yesterday evening (after voting "not sure" on the poll).

Only 1 cycle thus far but preliminary results are encouraging: except for 1 time when I forced it into 3G accidentally while playing with power settings, the Rezound held 4G signal the whole time in my house (the Nexus always had trouble maintaining 3G). I ran about a dozen speed tests and the Rezound consistently scores 50-100% better (7-12 mbps download vs. 3-6 mbps on the Nexus). I have not made any phone calls yet.

External speaker and camera are both a lot better. I was pleasantly surprised to find that an OOTB setting is available to store pictures to internal memory rather than the SD card; with this setting + the "no review" setting, the camera is only a split-second behind the Nexus in terms of rapid fire capability, with better quality to boot. Call it "near-zero shutter lag" :).

I have ten months then I'll b exchanging my nexus. The rezound is junk htc still can't make a phone. The razr is awesome but locked. I have no issues and love dam thing. Hell I talked to mommy from boston mass to Maine no signal issues thats 3 states can we say awesome

Keeping mine. Best phone I've ever owned. I checked out the rezound razr. Both were very underwhelming. They had that been there done that feel after owning 3 different android phones. Gnex feels next gen. This is googles flagship phone. They'll iron out the bugs.

3 states? Do you even know how cell phones work? Tell "mommy" that my Rezound can make calls to anywhere with no signal issues. 3 states...sheesh.

LoL, I always keep my smartphones til an upgrade is available.I only had 4 to date.(Blackberry 8330,HTC Incredible,Moto DX,Samsung Galaxy Nexus)
Of those phones the Blackberry and the DX are the ones retired ;)
But I actually dont see myself retiring the Nexus for at least 2 years maybe longer. The Incredible will stay in service til I find something better not really in a hurry to update it ,(update available for it in March,2012)

I agree with all your points. I owned two Rezounds (HW issues) and decided that HTC isn't for me. The Razr is very slick and built well. As you said, its locked down way to much.

I haven't dropped a call with my Nexus even when it shows no signal. So far with the leaked radios I haven't had any high pitch noise and/or loss of volume when talking to someone over a long period of time.

Lets see to be locked into a call from south Boston up into Portland. Maine all while driving is good. My bionic was way worse with reception I was always cursing it.

Don't think I can return this device its what I wanted in a phone yes it has its issues but the whole package can't be beat. I don't have carrier crap filling up my app drawer nor do I have to wait for an OEM to update their skin to be compatible with the next version of android. Oh and its open that's the biggest plus I also don't have to worry about t getting the next version of android

I was on the fence, but I ended up keeping it (even with ridiculous signal issues). I'm hoping they will resolve the issues, but the bottom line is that once I got a pure, unadulterated Google experience, the thought of going back to Motoblur or Sense and having to wait for ICS to get ported to my phone was the seal on the deal.

Heh. I returned the one I bought full price, out of contract when I found one for $400 on Craigslist. I don't know that I would have kept it for close to $700 with tax but I figure that I'll be able to sell it for a couple hundred when the LTE iPhone comes out. After my savings on my tethering plan, I should break even.

Fate decided for me. I slept through my alarm this morning, and when I woke up I didn't have enough time to go to the store before work. I would have been happy with either the rezound or nexus, so I'm content with keeping the nexus.

How many times can you reactivate devices on the same Verizon account under the same number? I've done it once over their site.
