#1 thing you like about your pixel

The UX for sure. Specifically love 9.0 on the Pixel 3. I know a lot of users don't like this generation of the OS, but it's been great for me. 9.0 on the Pixel just makes so much sense. So clean and efficient.

What I like about my Pixel 2 are the camera, the stock Android OS, and getting updates on a regular basis.

That would be my list in the same order. In some respects, I'm also pleased with the company. The recent update of Wear OS, the update coming to Pixel 2 for the camera which some of us already heve, and the fact that they spend 24 hours recovering photos I deleted from the cloud makes me pleased with Google. There are things I don't like about the company but they're still the best of the very limited options.

I have a bizarre like/dislike relationship with Google. I won't use their search engine and I'd just as soon watch CNN as go to Google for news. But, I sincerely appreciate the system and app updates that keep my older Pixel up with the new ones hardware permitting.

My sister is bringing me my Pixel 3 in January and in the meantime I'm playing with the new camera interface and Night Light on my Pixel 2. It's a hoot.

I'm falling out of love with Google as a company, but their products are still a better fit for me than most. I keep Duck Duck Go handy as a search engine to avoid what I see as an obvious left bias. I wish Google would veer away from the ideological and focus more effort on organizing and increasing the availability of information. That used to be their stated mission, not so sure anymore.

Do you mean in regards to the search engine or something else entirely, like suggestions in your news feed?

I was speaking generally, but both search and "discover" (the news feed) suffer from it. I will say my news feed is finally starting to reflect a mix of stories from both sides -- not even but still a mix.

I forget what search I was doing a few months back, but I was pro 2nd amendment related. I was hunting a meme, and could not find it on Google. Both Bing and Duck Duck Go had what I was looking for in the top 5. It was not a nuanced search at all. I was able to replicate on other computers and other folks profile.

You. Can go to the settings at the bottom of news feeds in Google and have them to not show on Google.

Yeah, I have tweaked all the settings as far as I care to. I am not trying to create my own echo chamber, just see a few sides of an issue. I still use it all because it is more useful than not, but they are creeping closer to the line, and I can certainly see room for folks to come in an create a competitor.

I gotcha. Real life examples of your experience helped me understand your post better. It's the overarching tone of the company that may be reflecting into things.

I have mixed feelings about Google as a company. I really like their recent release of Pixel 3's camera app for the Pixel and Pixel 2. I like the monthly updates. When I accidentally deleted all my photos for 2018 from my camera and cloud I appreciated the young man in the Phillipines recovering them over a 24-hr period.

I would just as soon was CNN and MSNBC as read Google News but sometimes I wonder if it's radicals in the ranks with inadequate supervision rather than company poliy that brings some of the really stupid nonsense.

When I see YouTube--Google--promoting a video of why to get a Chromebook--Google--and the video is two-ears old I just shake my head.

Screen.
Barebones Android.
Fast phone.
Regular updates.

Never been good at counting :-).

Can I have several tied at #1 LOL

In no particular order, here are mine:

• Size of the 3 (first "small" phone for me in a while)
• Screen quality- kicks the booty out of the XL 2
• Dual front facing speakers
• OS & UI - too many features to list individually, so this is a blanket statement of sort LOL
• Prompt updates
• Camera
• Build/overall feel (especially the power/volume buttons!)
• Haptic feedback
• IP68 Rating
• Wireless charging

That's all I can think of at the moment ... I'm sure missing something
