the thing I hate with ALL of my music players is that if I change anything about the .mp3 file after I've already put it in that music player, it instantly becomes unusable. I have to relocate the file and put it back in the music player. The big issue I'm dealing with my music player currently is that it's in french :/ lol

I have an iPod touch and my Optimus v. I've had various iPod touches and got to be very comfortable with ios before I had any experience with android. The android os wins hands down. Nothing can compare to the customizability that android has. However, if you are someone who wants a smart phone that "just works" without a learning curve, then the iPhone is for you.

I hate iTunes. I hate iTunes so much. But I can't stop using it, because for some reason, everyone insists on buying me iTunes giftcards for my birthday and Christmas. I have 90 dollars of credit to buy songs, and I'm not going to just throw it away. The reason I dislike it so much is because I just got a new laptop, and copied all my 7000 songs from the old one to the new. And now, every single song shows up 4 times in my music library. Why can't they just make it easy? And the fact that I have to download separate programs to sync with my phone? I hate iTunes.

Apple won't sync to Android for the very thing I mentioned earlier, monopoly.

Itunes has a method of removing duplicates.
Also, use that Itunes money to only download non-drm files and then yank them right out of Itunes.

True. iOS is designed to be simple. Android is much more customizable, but that comes with a learning curve.

Lmfao. Poor you. I think the reason the songs show up 4 times is because of the stupid DRM protections they put on them.

Probably. All I know is its annoying to have to click through 3 songs that
all give me errors, only to find it is the 4th one is the I've iTunes can actually locate.

Yes, I've seen programs out there, but I find it silly to have to do that in the first place. I was going to organize my library over break but didn't want to spend the time :p

And unfortunately its my sister who wants to buy all the pop songs, which of course apple is going to put DRMs on. Oh well, guess I'll be an Apple slave for just a bit longer :D

This. The way I see it, android is mostly for people like us. People who hack, people who browse forums. Geeks. There is still a large percentage of standard users on android, but I've always seen it as android is for geeks, and iPhones are for users. The non tech oriented. But I like it that way. I love my Droid, and until the iPhone gets a 50 megapixel camera, a 3D projector, and a holographic notification system BEFORE android, I'm not making the switch :D

iTunes hasn't had DRM in their music for years.

Anyways yeah, I don't really compare about the comparison or one being better than the other. Different phones for different people. With ICS Google has done plenty to make the experience friendly out of the box and that trend will only continue. I'm all for that because my experience with ICS was so great that I had far less stuff installed because I didn't feel the need to do things differently than the core experience. I still had the options to change for the things I did want to though, and that's where Android shines. Android= options. That's why I love it.

You do not have to deal with ITunes and you actually can save files to a manageable file manager in Android. Those two are enough for me to lament about for a day or so...

OK, my two bits here... I work on computers for a living, have for the last 20 or so years. I consider myself "operating system neutral" on computers; comfortable enough to work on most any OS.
At home, I use mostly Windows XP and some Linux (mostly Ubuntu, tried most of them). As such, my phone OS of choice was Android, hands down. I like something I can work on, use, customize, and yet use as a daily driver without any worries. Our devs here have made that easy to do, and have provided endless support for those who have problems. Apple products (all of them) provide simple-to-use, technically good systems, but they are not meant to be changed, modified, or anything else. From my perspective, that amounts to a "dumbed down" interface. Not for me, thank you.
The people I know that use iPhones all seem to take the attitude of "I don't want to mess with it". Some very intelligent people feel that way, just not me or most of the people on these forums. More power to us, and major kudos to all the devs and folks just getting there.
