10+ set up

I still like them. They don't have any real presence anymore, but the U12+ is a great phone. Of course, they still haven't updated the US version to Pie so that's a problem.

Yeah that's one reason at the time I converted to play edition , I said pixel addition lol .I fix that

This is my 1st purchase of an unlocked device. At what point do I insert the sim from my N9; immediately out of the box before powering on or after I've set it up?

If it is anything like the Pixel, once you turn it on there should be step by step instructions for set up. If it nothing like the Pixel, you are on your own.

I've been trying to think logically comparing it to carrier devices. The sim is already there so it's "branded" from start up. Just not sure if that would matter with unlocked.

If you are wanting your new phone to have your existing number, install the sim before the setup.

It doesn't really matter. I always set up my phones before putting my sim in so I don't get bothered with calls/texts during set up. But you can put it in first if you'd like.

I like this idea. Get it all set up, insert sim, and connect to carrier - Brilliant - there ya' go Katrina.

The first Samsung phone I had was the Note 7. It's fun getting new phones, and being able to tinker around the settings finding new stuff. Plus we'll be here to help!
The first and only Samsung I had prior to the S10+ was a flip phone and it was either free or 50 dollars. I stayed away from Samsung because of TouchWiz.

I don't think it would make a difference. If you setup the Google/Samsung stuff and then put the Sim in, or put the Sim in before and then set it up, I would regardless go to......... settings >network/internet> mobile network > advanced and refresh the APN

TouchWiz was definitely rough for years. I didn't have the Note 7 very long, but used Experience UI or whatever it was called on the S8+. I liked it. Pretty excited to give One UI a shot.

All of the initial Android skins were bulky. Moto had motoblur
