$100 off Samsung GT 10.1 at Staples

That's a pretty good deal.
As a Samsung employee I already get it for that cheap, but it's good for those who can take advantage of it while it lasts.

Do you get it cheaper or the same as the Staples deal?

This coupon was enough for me to go ahead and buy the tab. Love it! Horrible experience with Staples though. They were telling everyone that they were sold out, but online they had some in stock. So I talked to the corporate office and they said that they did have some in stock. Went to Staples and they finally sold me one after I said that I had talked to corporate. Then the guy said, "I can't wait until those coupons expire. They are good for the consumer, but bad for us." In the end, I got my tablet even though the employees were really shady.

After seeing my Tab, my daughter went and picked one up today. She had much the same experience at Staples. They only had one left and really did not want to sell it with the coupon. They basically tried to make her feel quilty for using the coupon. The rep told her that using the coupon really hurts them. Great public relations, eh?

Funny thing is, the it just hurts that sales associate. The store gets that 100 bucks back from the corporate promotions folks. So get a salaried manager to sell it to you.

Yeah, it was just kind of ridiculous. He got to the point of trying to convince me not to buy saying that it might not sync to my computer and that it is not capable of creating and editing word documents (after I told him I was a college student). I was just like, I am actually well aware of what it can do and I am going to buy it.

Needless to say, I will not be going back to Staples for any future purchases.

Another good thing about getting it from Staples? They don't have the white back one, instead they have it with a matte-finish, gray back that feels much more solid than the white plastic did. It's got slightly raised metal brazing on the back (it's hard plastic made to feel like brazed metal) It's less slippery, more solid and I think it looks better.

The person at my store couldn't tell me what color it was. I had to look online on a demo Xoom (they didn't have any demo Galaxy Tabs) to see that there was only one color sold, and it was gray (by looking at pictures). Also, he was trying to convince me to buy the Iconia Tab, which I guess has a higher margin for them, since it costs even less than the Tab. He had never seen the coupon before, though.

I called another Staples before that, but they said they just sold their last one.

I picked up a Galaxy Tab 10.1 last night, and love it!

I mentioned the coupon to a sales associate and told him that I was interested in picking up a Galaxy Tab, and he walked me over to the HP Touch Pad instead, and started talking about its features. I had to inform him that he was talking about the wrong product, and that it wasn't one of those to which the coupon could be applied. He was a bit embarrassed that I knew more about his product line-up than he did.

Other than that, and the typical attempts to add in a bunch of useless accessories (the ones he showed me were compatible with the Touch Pad), it was a pretty easy buying experience. But I don't think I'll be going back Staples unless they offer another deal as good as this one!

The coupon came out on Monday of that week. :)

I've found that Staples has been a pain in the *** to deal with. I have the screen-waking issue, and went to exchange it. They've been playing a little avoidance game with me about having it in stock.

I think they regretted releasing that dang coupon.

I would call and verify the policy over the phone. Some people are having success, so it's worth a shot.

The Staples I visited over the weekend was similar to what you're saying Joelist, thanks for the information. They only had the Xoom, Iconica, Playbook, and Touchpad on display. When I inquired about the other models they said they didn't stock them.

I've tried two different bestbuys in my area (NYC) and they all stated they don't price match coupons. they will however allow me to make a full refund. however every staples in my area is sold out of them. staples did however tell me that they can honor my coupon and order one directly to my house. i may go that route.

Had mine for about a week to test out....was skeptical I'd use it, but love it so far. Especially when you can tether it to a rooted phone!

ooh do you have instructions on how to do that? or can you point me to a guide?

so i tried one last bestbuy yesterday in queens and still had no luck getting a price match. i decided to return it at that point, which ended up being a 45 minute hassle. after getting my refund i walked down the street to a staples and bought the 32gb model with the coupon. they didnt' have any in stock so they are shipping it to my apt, hopefully i will get it by tomorrow. anyway, one might argue 45 min of hassling is not worth 100$ and i agree, but i hate how bestbuy refuses to match a competitor's price, regardless of whether it's a coupon or not and is willing to lose business that way.

It all depends on your phone and carrier. Tmobile lets you do it without root on the native android setting Mobile AP. I think the Droid X lets you do it through bluetooth. There are quite a few apps out there, too, depending on whether you want to use USP or Wifi hotspot.

So after complaining to Best Buy corporate about my experience they wound up price matching for me. They did it despite the fact that all the local Staples were sold out.

I'm glad, I really didn't want to boycott Best Buy, my wife was already getting mad at me for refusing to go there until this was resolved. Happy ending here, sorry to all those that missed out on the deal due to Best Buy's inconsistencies.

What the, how did you get the 32gb model?? I went to my Staples store and asked if that was possible and they said that I could only do it for the 16gb, because they didn't carry the 32. I asked them if I could order it in store with the coupon and have it shipped and the tech guy said no, because he'd already tried that. I guess I'll try another Staples?

Today, 7/30/11, is the last day! Take you coupon to Staples and have them ship to store if they are out of stock. And yes, they will be out of stiock.

Just bought my wife one from Staples in Atlanta, GA. AFTER being told by three different Staples stores that there was a recall on the Galaxy Tab and they had to be sent back to corporate. Found a store in Atlanta that was had no idea about any recalls.. and picked it up with no problem. Might even consider buying the $99.00 product replacement... (i have 14 days to decide)

Hi, thanks for the coupon!!
I'm from Germany but currently on vacations in California.
I went to a Staples store in SF, but they told me, that they
cant order it online if i want to use the code and there aren't any
GT in Stock.

The second store told me nearly the same, but in the system
they found a store 30 miles away with one last table.
I was able to pay the reduced price today in the 2nd store in SF
and ... if everything works as it should, i could pick it up tomorrow
at that store ( i have a car rental .. starting tomorrow )

so ... fingers crossed, hopefully I'm lucky tomorrow ;D
