Is there a reason why the YouTube app doesn't support 1080p?
It was supposed to, at least from what I last read.

It does support HD (1080p), including being able to cast at that resolution.

Why do you think that it doesn't?

Because it does not give me the option for 1080p.
I'm pretty sure the videos are 1080p, as I had checked them on PC and the option was there.
Maybe I'm missing something.

Try using Tubemate, available from the Opera apps store (it's free) because it will show you the quality options.
