1080p video not uploading in 1080p

I cannot get any of my videos I shoot with my N4 to upload to Youtube in 1080p. . . The settings are set at 1080p, but after uploading, people can only watch the video in 720p, including me. . . What gives?

I just uploaded a 1080p video from my phone and it came out 720p. When I tried to search for an answer there were way too many of them that all conflicted with each other.

Have you tried checking the video a few hours later? When uploading a 1080p video it takes longer for YouTube to process and usually the first, HD version that becomes available is the scaled-down 720p one, but after some time the 1080p version is also active.

Actually I just went back and saw the 1080p version of my test available.
