Did a quick search on ebay and I'm seeing tons of these 128GB MicroSD cards for like $15-$20 bucks.. I'm assuming some sort of knockoff/generic brand, but are they trustworthy? will it ruin my slot eventually?

There are tons of these... wth?

Be careful of unbelievable SD Card deals on ebay. Many are fake. I've run across this a few times. For example, on a supposed 32GB card, it worked just fine until I tried to put more than 2GB of data on it. Upon really examining the outside of the card, I noticed the 3 in 32GB was a different font than the 2. The card itself had been modified to display 32GB of storage space to the operating system, though it could only physically hold 2GB.

If sounds too good to be true...

I would stay on the safe side and not risk it. Try to only buy Micro SD cards from reputable brands.

Thanks everyone. I'd rather spend a little bit more money and get something authentic than risk ruining my SD slot by cheap knockoffs..

For what it's worth, I haven't heard of any knock offs damaging the device, only that they don't have the advertised space.
