I've researched battery life tips and used the search function plenty on this site, but I have to ask because I feel like i just have aggressive drain (even for this phone!)

After charging to 100% yesterday, wiping battery stats, fully draining then charging to full while turned off, i went to bed with phone @ 100%.

Data turned off, CDMA AUTO (prl) antenna selection, wifi turned on, sync of 2 email addresses (got 2 emails overnight), ondemand governer with 245mhz when phone is idle. (double checked in setcpu that the CPU is spending 90% of its time in the 245 clock state)

It said that "Cellular Standby" took 30, Cell Idle took 28, and Wifi took 18. the rest was just minor stuff.

So is this what i should be expecting? 15% battery drain overnight even from it being idle and on wifi?

FYI using stock 1400mah battery and BAMF 1.8.6 with MR2 (i found mr2 gave me better overall results than MR2.5, but i still need to test this more)

I also live in Arlington, VA where we have massive 4g and 3g coverage, so i'm not roaming.

Does DasBAMF CPU tools tools automatically undervolt the CPU when its running low? Or should i run the script tweaks that have started popping up on the Dev forums.

EDIT: also should be noted wifi signal to my room is not so strong, hovers between 10-70% quite often

That's actually not *too* bad. I live in Alexandria and usually get about 8-13% drop overnight (mobile network on and wifi connected). Running BAMF Remix 1.8.

I keep my CPU settings (using the BAMF toolkit) set at:

1.28 max
368 min
ondemand governor

With other ROMs, I've had a 20-25% drop overnight, so to me, losing 10% isn't that bad at all.

A weaker WIFI signal could account for the extra discrepancy you notice as well, especially if the connection ever drops off, even momentarily.

Just wondering why you would be on WIFI when you're sleeping? Why not just eliminate WIFI altogether?

Why not have wifi on when I'm sleeping???

Wifi uses less power than 4G or 3G for data, so I pretty much keep it on all the time when I'm home, whether I'm sleeping or not.

Yeah, I mean, I understand your reasons, but for me, when I'm gonna go to sleep, I turn off my data feed since it won't be used anyway.

You could go that route. My job requires me to be available 24/7 to respond to emergency calls and email alerts, so when I go to bed I basically turn my ringer volume all the way up and make sure I have a decent battery charge. (It's rare I get called, but it does happen). Never occurred to me that turning everything off was an option!

To be honest, I'd love to be able to just shut everything down when I go to sleep!

Well, the first thing i do when i wake up in the morning is usually remote into my work PC. But i suppose that turning on wifi takes a split second. All the alerts i need come in through SMS when i sleep, so keeping the phone completely data free is definitely an option.

Question. Should i bother turning off cellular data when wifi is active? or does it automatically disable it

I wouldn't bother. The power savings seem to be minimal in my experience. It's doesn't disable the cellular data, but it does route most data through the wifi. Phone call and SMS/MMS require mobile (cellular) data to work, so if you turn off the mobile data, you won't get either calls or texts.

If you live in an area where your signal is weak or cuts in and out, you might want to turn off mobile data. Cellular/mobile data still run with wifi on.
at the same time, your battery drain over night doesnt sound that bad to me, and if you really want your battery to last over night, you should leave it on the charger (haha jk) - but seriously if you can live without your texts use airplane mode and disable wifi and you'll maybe only lose half that amount or so.
