2.2 on Samsung Vibrant?

just heard if i get the samsung vibrant which is already loaded with 2.1 that it will go to 2.2? any date on this or any info do u guys think it will go to gingerbread once released?

2.2 will come LATER down the line. I wouldn't expect it til the end of this year-early 2011. If it gets rooted pretty fast, then you may see it ported over before then, but still cross your fingers.

Samsung UK said the international OTA update is coming by the end of September, however the Beta is already leaked(again the INTERNATIONAL version).

What I am hoping is that it gets the next few updates that Google throws out(Gingerbread) I expect the life span of this phone to be longer than the G1 and Nexus One.

Yes, my vibrant (with 2.1 and LF) benchmark shows overall performance much better than N1 with 2.2 but just because OCFL fixed I/O. However as you can see CPU-wise N1 with Froyo looks still superior. I wonder what would happen on my Vibrant when 2.2 is released. Can't wait.

I am waiting very patiently, I bet its stable and if it has been taking this long I hope the quality is great. I am just looking forward to the wifi tethering and that huge speed improvement. I really cannot wait

LF = Lag Fix... Look up RyanZA's lagfix. It's a root and lagfix and works great.
