2.2 Rooting work around?

Just a logical question: if someone has non-rooted 2.2, couldn't they use the "return to stock/unrooted" sticky in this sub-forum to get their EVO back to 2.1, then Simpleroot from there?

That would just keep you unrooted.

As os 8/21, you can't unroot OTA Froyo. Hopefully soon!!!!

at the end of that thread, i mention that you cant RUU down to 2.1.
