2.2 walk-through?

Hey all,

Just wondering if one of you knowledgeable users might provide a froyo root walk-through from start to finish. I've yet to root my droid, but now that 2.2 has surfaced, I'd like to take the plunge. However, I'm not comfortable doing it on my own. If anyone wants to create a walk-through from the very start, I'm sure it would be received with many open arms.

I would like that as well. Started reading up on root last night and I have all of the files downloaded, but would be more comfortable with a walk-thru from start (root) to finish (2.2 plus kernels for wifi). anyone?

ya beast those are great resources and very easy to follow. just a little word of advice for anybody rooting their phone who has never done it before. Make sure you know how to unroot if you have to in the future because if something happens to your device and you need to bring it in for a replacement, there is not much that they will do for you. rooting voids warranty but you can always unroot and delete any files that involve root and verizon will have no idea (in most cases).

That was probably the easiest manual way I have done to put a custom rom on my Droid. I'm loving it!!

When you install 2.2 (Froyo) make sure you use the link at the top about the newer method. The new method uses a new update from Motorola that increases functionality. The old had problems with certain APIs that Google Voice and the ChrometoPhone app used which caused them to not be able to work right.
