2 email icons??

Hey everyone, I just want to state I'm new to android and just got the Galaxy Nexus Thursday and love it. However, as a newbie I have a question regarding my email notifications. I recognized in the apps there is a gmail app and an general email app. I suppose I signed up my same email account on both and now whenever I get a notification I have two email icons appear for the same message. How do I disable one so I just get my gmail app icon to appear? Thanks for any help.

You can delete the email account in the general email app in the settings menu. The second email app is for emails other than gmail accounts.

I have all my emails (even the main gmail account) in the non-gmail app. I had the same problem, so I went into the gmail app and disabled the notifications for my main gmail account. You do this under the settings for the gmail account in question.

I would definitely recommend using the Gmail app for the Gmail account, instead of the default email app. Number one, you get all the Gmail-specific features with it, and number two, it works on push, so it will use much less battery than using the default app.
