Hi, my S24 is having troubles with wifi staying connected to Android Auto, and I've decided to upgrade my phone. Is the S26 worth waiting a few months for, or should I pull the trigger on an S25? Also, when transferring texts from old phone to new, is there a way to keep archived messages in the archived state? It has always put all archived messages back into the inbox and then I have to re-archive hundreds if not thousands of text messages on the new phone. This is what happened when I got the S24 last year, and the S22 two years prior. Thanks

I'm not so sure upgrading to a S25 will resolve your Android Auto issues. I had a BMW with iDrive 7 and had a lot of issues with AA connectivity. Same connectivity issues with a S23, S24 and S25. I had it to the dealer several times trying to remedy the issue, but after seeing loaner cars with iDrive 7 experiencing the same issue, I figured it was a hardware issue that wouldn't easily be resolved. That car has been replaced with a newer BMW with iDrive 8.5 and now AA works well. No disconnection issues like I had with the older iDrive 7.

Not knowing what car you're experiencing your issues with. Just sharing so you can set expectations.

2025 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring. I posted on a Honda FB page and everyone with a Galaxy S25 or a Pixel aren't having the issues. It's basically that music drops out every couple of minutes just for a split second. I've noticed that my phone does drop wifi connection every so often just sitting on the couch and I'm thinking since AA connects to the car wifi that might be the issue. It also does it on my wife's BMW x5 2019, but her Galaxy S25+ has no such issues.

I did figure out how to enable AA developer options to restrict my phone to wired AA only and it works fine that way but I want it to just work the way it's meant to work via wireless.
