2 S8+'s can't remember Cablevision / Optimum wifi automatic login

Our 2 new Verizon S8+'s work well. On home wifi near the AC router, mine showed better then 200 MPBS - same download speed as my tower PC could handle. Of course I also use 'public' wifi. At work, we have 'att guest' that works pretty well; once per day you have to use Firefox to accept terms (Chrome can't properly display the acceptance page). In the morning before my inbound train, I connect to Optimumwifi, pick Auto, login and put in my phone name and my email address, and Submit. I connect. Hours later, getting off the train and riding home up a main street that has Optimum, I have to log in again. On my now retired Moto Droid Turbo, this was never a problem as little as a week or so ago. The S8+ won't remember these connections. Any idea of what is going on here?
