Hey all,

I can't seem to find volume control in the pull down status bar. The only way to get to volume control is to go through settings

Next, is there anyway to get the next few calendar events to show up on the lock screen?
I get the Calendar icon but would like to have the next few events show up. Apparently it's a Samsung feature, sure hoping there is an app but so far, I can't find one

Thanks in advance
Rick

Do you get a little arrow on the right when you tap the volume button? If so, tap on it and the different volume sliders should appear.

My preferred method though is simply to "Squeeze" and say "Set volume to 75 percent".

On Google phones, the only three things that can be adjusted are alarm, media and ring. It seems that the ring volume also controls two other volumes that can be independently set on other phones: system and notification.

I wish Google would add this flexibility.

Google does have this flexibility and then some.
You tap the drop down icon on the right of the volume slider and you get the other two sliders.
I like to do this:
"Squeeze" and say "Set volume to 80 percent".
"Squeeze" and say "Set media volume to 75 percent".
"Squeeze" and say "Set ringer volume to 100 percent".
"Squeeze" and say "Set notification volume to 50 percent".

I found this to be an issue on my last Moto phone to. Coming from a lot of Samsung and LG phones that have the quick toggle for silent/vibrate/volume it was very frustrating to me. I found an app that is very simple and has volume profiles you can set with a simple widget you can put in the screen or I have a gesture setup in Nova Launcher to open the app quickly. Here is the app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=za.co.neildixon.apps.mobile.sspm

I noticed the same thing coming from a Samsung and it was annoying at first but I've gotten used to having to click the volume button to get there.

Thanks for the tips.

Yes, the down arrow from the volume button worked, never saw that before :)

Any thoughts on calendar events on the lock screen?

Hit the volume button on the phone (up or down) and tap the down arrow from the notification. You can then see it all there.

Oops I just replied and saw you already got it lol. Ignore me :P.

You can get a full calendar but not events in the Always on Display. At least not that I have been able to find.

I tried this but it doesn't set the notification and ring volume separately. It's still 1 slider

It does on my Pixel 2 XL. Do each one and then check result by holding physical volume down and then tapping drop down arrow to see all three sliders. Works perfectly!

When you hold down the arrow and all 3 sliders appear, the ringer and notification volume are 1 in the same slider....the media slider is for music and video audio. Can you make the ringer and notification volume different volumes? I see people have done this with assistant, does it actually work? Thanks

Yes it works.

I'm pretty sure with stock Android, upping the ring volume ups the notification volume to the same percentage. They're tied together. You can't have ring at 100% and notification at 25% at the same time. You can tell Assistant to adjust either but both are going to get moved. There are probably apps out there that fix this but I never considered it a problem so I can't recommend specifics.
