Hi everybody,

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 that I got in 2013
(Model SGH-I1317M running on KitKat 4.4.2)

It's a great phone, I love it.

But lately I started having some problems (after 3 years).
I started getting "Unfortunately bla bla bla problems" (don't remember what the first was)
I can't really figure out why it all started.
I backed up all my data and did a Wipe data / Factory reset (delete user data + wipe cache partition + reboot)
I couldn't believe how fast my phone was after that, it was incredible!

But after a couple of weeks I got "Unfortunately touchwiz home has stopped"
I tried all the solutions on the net but nothing worked, I had to reset it again

Then after a couple of weeks I got "Unfortunately google play services has stopped"
I tried all the solutions on the net (cleared cache etc...) but nothing worked
Almost nothing works on the phone or it works very badly (right now) and that error message appears every 30 seconds or so...

I don't know much about all of this, I'm self employed and I need my phone for work.
If I reset my phone again it's just going to come back

What advice would you have for a solid solution?

I red that I could upgrade from kitkat to a newer operating system like Lollipop/Marshmallow/Nougat??
Would that fix the problem? Thank you!

I just tried resetting it using the reset option in the settings of the phone, maybe if I reset it in a different way it will work?

Anyway it doesn't seem to be working for now or it's a very loong process?
It says "Shutting down" and it keeps on turning without going anywhere and every 30 seconds or so the "unfortunately google play services has stopped" error message...

*****update, ok the phone ended up resetting, now everything is updating, then I have to re-install all the apps I need to work, praying that I don't get an "unfortunately bla bla bla error"*****

Now I'm getting "Unfortunately Samsung push service has stopped"
I checked my Samsung account and I have a sync problem of some sort?

So... you're saying get an iphone? is that what you're saying?
Welcome. :)

Please excuse the tardy reply, and the absence of any replies other than mine, which probably simply indicates that no-one understands why you're experiencing so much trouble.
Let's start with Safe Mode....do the problems still persist? I don't think it's very likely that a third-party app is responsible, but it's worth a try. If necessary we can then consider something else.

Haa! someone wants to help me? :-)

I just tried safe mode and I have the exact same issues, (Samsung push and Chrome)
plus some apps icons are missing in my home screen? maybe that's normal in safe mode?

Here's something I noticed,

I red on the net that a quick fix of the "samsung push" issue is to logout of your samsung account, restart the phone, and log back in.

I was going to try it out but when I go on my Samsung account, I can see a "Sync error" with this message : "Sync is currently experiencing problems. it will be back shortly"

Okay. I was going to suggest reflashing the stock firmware, checking that your SD card is okay if you're using one, etc., but I'm out of my depth. I'll pass it to more knowledgeable members.

Welcome to the forums. Sorry about the lack of replies in the beginning. We get pretty busy, and threads can get buried quickly.

As for your issue... Reading that updating the OS to something higher than KitKat may fix the issue. There is a caveat, though. You would have to flash a custom ROM, and would lose a lot of Samsung features, including some of the SPen.

Can the Samsung push service be disabled?
