[2013 Christmas Guide] A Glimpse into the Ambassador devices

Re: [Christmas Guide] A Glimpse into the Ambassador devices

I'm currently using a 16GB iPhone 4. I've decided to make a change for Android since iPhone prices here in Brasil are rising to an impossible range (iPhone 5S will retail for almost US$1300 with contract) despite the lack of innovation by Apple. My first option would be the 16GB Moto X (can get one for around US$200 with contract) cause I'm really impressed with the innovative features of this guy. The second deal would be the Nexus 5 (hasn't been released here yet). My only concern is about camera performance since every review put this as a con for the X/Nexus 5 and the iPhone 4 camera serves me pretty well in rough circumstances. Am I right to be concerned about that even if I'm using a 2010 phone?

Thanks for this amazing thread.

Welcome to the forums.
The thread was our pleasure to provide.
As for the camera, it is hard for me to say. I don't use it much, but I think it is good enough for posting on Facebook, G+, etc.

Easy, buy an iPhone 5s while it is on sale with ATT. Sell the iPhone for close to retail and then get you a Nexus and pocket some money as well.

This was directed at the fellow who asked about buying a Nexus when contract renewal was close. Is it normal to not be able to edit posts?

You should be able to edit your own posts. Are you on the website or the app?

Re: [Christmas Guide] A Glimpse into the Ambassador devices

Device : Nexus 7 2012 3G 32GB, LG G2 32GB

Nexus 7 2012, The Good: very good in hand. Reasonable fast for gaming. Great for browsing and good battery life. The price is cheap.
The Bad: Tegra 3 not the fastest SoC out there, 32GB not enough for some people, Display not full HD, and Auto Brightness really annoying, Sound on both speaker and headphone/earphone really average. OTG supported but need additional app.

LG G2 , The Good: Blazing fast. I love build-in clear ram and file explorer software from LG. Good grip in one hand, nice thin bezel, and the screen really beautiful. Camera quality really great in good lighting. Bluetooth and wifi connection really fast. Battery life really good, very easy to pass a day in medium usage.
The Bad: Volume rocker on the back really annoying even quite nice in design, I'm quite often accidently press the camera lens instead, when I want to push volume rocker. Back case really finger prints magnet, additional case highly recommended. No wireless charging. External speaker really bad in quality, and same with the headphone/earphone. 5.2" display can't be full screen because of the button bar software took some place. But the most I hate of all about G2 which maybe some other device with same SoC suffers same problem is THE HEAT. I can use it to warm my stomach or head after I use it for gaming.

I had the same problem. I'm on the website on my computer, unable to edit posts. Haven't tried the app...

interesting. I have the Verizon edition, which DOES have wireless charging. I think Verizon's button redesign makes the volume rockers more distinguishable than the international edition. I stopped hitting the camera lens after a day or two. I don't notice any heat problems after playing games or watching streaming video...
Yes, back case is a finger print magnet. My external speaker is better than my wife's DNA and on par with my previous Rezound, and headphone quality doesn't seem lacking.
Your experience with the phone makes me think you had a Nexus 5...

On the website, there should be a button at the lower right of the post that says "Edit Post" right next to the Reply buttons, assuming you're the one who posted it. You're logged in, right?

G2 international don't have wireless charging. That's really a downside, I really want that feature due to I have webOS devices and all of them have wireless charging feature. External speaker and headphone on G2 maybe quite subjective. I have Palm Pre 3 and hp Touchpad, they both have better external and headphone quality compared to both G2 and Nexus 7 2012. Mine, the heat really annoying, but I think this depends on service signal too. Playing 2D game usually not cause so much heat compared to 3D game. Playing Dead Trigger 2 or GT Racing 2 can make G2 very quick increase the heat.

Using AC forum app on android, there is edit command, but can't do it, there is message said I don't have that permission, I think there is something wrong with this thread, maybe the Mods, or Admins uncheck edit feature in this thread.

Maybe the edit function is on only for the Ambassadors in this thread.

It might be because I see the edit button.

I have the Edit button on other threads, just not this one.

Yeah it is odd, no edit button. I am logged in from a computer though and not my phone.

What makes you think that?

Re: [Christmas Guide] A Glimpse into the Ambassador devices

It might be because I see the edit button.

Was it fixed or is there still no edit button for non-Ambassadors/Mods? I just checked and I'm able to edit my original post so it would seem it was or still is that way.

I think it was the way it was transferred.
