2014 and were still getting 32gb

Why is it so unusual that more people don't question the Apple pricing model? Do you think it's any different with say, a Note 3 at $750.00 with only 32 GB of RAM? Do you believe that SamDung makes any less margin on phones than Apple? Samsung sells more everything than Apple does and pays even less for parts than Apple does..but their flagship phones are priced in the same territory as Apple, or even higher on some models.

You're right; to clarify I picked Apple because the post I quoted had their numbers in it. The same thing absolutely happens on the Android side (and probably other OS) and is no less disturbing.

Yup, "disturbing" is the right word. I think margins like that are just criminal - but hey...what do I know. Thing is, as long as people are ready to pay for it, there will always be Apple's...

Samsung operating margin is substantially lower than Apple. Keep in mind same retail price doesn't mean same margin. For example when moto x was released, carriers sold it for $200 on contract but carriers only paid $350 for it. In contrast, the iPhone when released sold for $650 on contract but carriers paid $600 for it. While both retail for the same price, apple made a lot more money per device sold than Motorola. Now Samsung devices do cost a bit more for the carriers but still substantially less than the iPhone.

I am not sure what you mean by paying less for parts, the bom of Samsung high end is substantially higher than iPhone

The question I have for the OP is what item on your device do you have that makes you feel that you need more space on it? I have about 30 GB worth of video and images on my device that would pose an issue if not for the 128GB SD card. And even then, it's mostly because I have a couple of long 4K videos that I shot (that I can't watch since I don't have a 4K monitor) and a few full feature movies on my device (And the entire Breaking Bad series on my device as well). I imagine having 500 GB on my device would be severe overkill and would price the phone higher than it should. I personally would rather have the resources applied to a top shelf processor, or more memory. I can't imagine a cell phone company wanting to stuff 500 GB worth of storage and being able to convince consumers of the added benefit of so much space. Then again, we are consumers and we've fallen for worse.

I only have 50mb space left only have 8 games 10 albums 3 films and 6gb of system note 3 OS this is a joke the note 4 with should come with 100 GB

Buy a playstation if you want to fill your device with games - this is a phone, not a joke.

I am sure more than 90% of Note 3 buyers don't need even 64GB, leave alone 128GB, so none of the rest of us want to pay for your 100GB phone.

A 128 GB card is cheap enough that you can afford to buy one; buy one and move on.

I'm fine with 32 gigs for app storage but pictures and music I want more so I'll be picking up a 64gig card very soon. But the standard 32 gigs is the main reason I bought this over an s5

It won't. It will most likely come with 32 GB.. Expandable storage... Etc.

Trust me, I had to upgrade to the 64 GB recently too, from the 32 GB, and now I'm running out of space and am considering the 128 GB card! :)

Do you have an SD card? If I were you, I'd transfer your media onto an SD card, and leave the rest for your games and your gaming data. 32GB is pretty much the norm for cell phones. I don't think internal storage is as big a commodity in the cell phone industry as it is elsewhere. I personally would rather have the faster processor, the better RAM, better screen before I'd want more internal storage.

The first thing I'd do is move the 10 albums, 3 films, and any other media to an external SD card. If you'd rather not get an external SD card (even though they're relatively cheap now), I'd look at getting a dedicated gaming device separate from your phone as someone else already mentioned.

First try clearing the cache data. Depending on your apps that can take up allot of space.

Second get a 64 or 128 GB sd card.

Change your media APPS ( music/movie) to put there downloaded content on the sd card.

Move your games to the SD card.

If you find that the combination of internal and SD Card storage of 160 GB os insufficient look at moving all your movie content to a external drive like a Seagate wireless pro drive.

Lastly if you have a pc avaliable setup a personal cloud. I use plex for my media content from a home server.

There are allot of ways to augment the storage available to the device.

The movies are probably taking up a lot of the storage capacity. Moving media to the sd card is good option. Another option would be to put movies on a thumb drive connect the thumb drive to the phone when you need to watch the movie. This isn't ideal and I prefer the sd card better, but it is an option for those who don't want to use an sd card. As said above, a wireless hard drive is another option.

Your needs like mine are atypical. I need a lot of storage but I realize that we are in the minority. The good thing is that there are options for people like us.

No thanks, I'm not paying more for my phone so you get 128GB. You can pay the extra $150.00 for it yourself.

All I ask is what shoud happen im not demanding this buying a sd csrd is not a problem but having storage is also buying phones brand new is a Con I buy after 2 monthes and the guys from ----- sell there brand new phones for have the price so dont tell my I should pay $150 as I pay $250 all in like the saying goes its not who you know its what you know

No, what I meant is, he can pay the extra $150 for it as a device equipped with 128 GB internally, because that's probably what the difference on cost would be over the 32GB device today, same as Apple and the different iPOD /iPhone models, due to larger memory capacity.

So if Sammy made only a 128 GB model, it would be far more than the $700 they charge today for the 32GB model, is what I'm saying.
