Just an FYI, I got my Captivate yesterday evening and very quickly found the answer to one of the questions that I hadn't seen answered anywhere online:

The Captivate will play 24 bit flacs!

I have only tested 48khz so far and I haven't made any judgement as too how hi-fi it is, but I am very pleased. There is nothing like taking up a lot of space with your music. Anything for better sound quality!

I guess I will need a 32gb Micro sdhc.

BTW, I tried a beautiful 24 bit 96 khz vinyl rip flac of Jeff Buckley doing Halleluiah and it didn't work. It hung for a minute or more before Media Player came back and said there was a problem(no crash, but it felt like one).

More 24/48's like the recent Beatles releases all worked fine. I listened somewhat critically with some Shure earphones and it seemed very good. Is it better than my iphone 3G I turned off a couple days ago? Probably (maybe even a lot), but it's hard to tell for sure.

That music player has a bug where it searches inside music files for images when there is no cover in the folder. Large 24bit flac will cause it to crash while searching. To fix, put any jpg file in the folder for it to use as a cover and you'll be able to play any file now :)
