Ok so I ordered a tablet from google, and I said that I want my account to be loaded on it. Well I just bought one from Staples, I powered it up and its asking if I have a google account. My question is, if I already had one from google, does that mean that my 25 dollars and movie are only on that tablet, or is it connected to the email and not the tablet...bit confused here so if you guys can help me out that would be great!

Thanks.

If i remember correctly, I thought that only applies to people who preorder it. If not, I did read somewhere that once you set up the tablet with your Google account, it should show up automatically.

It's connected to both regarding eligibility. I went through this when I accidentally got my nephews 25 dollars. Each tablet has a limit of one gift and each account has a limit of one as well. You have to meet both criteria. If you have already received the 25 dollars then let someone else sign on to get that tablets 25 and so on.

Anyway, you seem to be asking if the money is on the tablet or on your account, it's on your account. You can use it online to buy apps for other devices, as I did so already.:-$

Not just preorders. It's all tablets. Again, I know as I've done it. We got one from Gamestop for my nephew. Through a complicated scenario I got his 25 dollars. His was defective so we exchanged it. He got 25 dollars on the exchange unit. Now I have one that is willing to give 25 to someone else, as soon as I decide who to gift it to but it will not give me another 25. Google customer service actually advised me to give it to someone else to clear that from my device (record keeping issue one must assume.)

Ok so it's connected to my gmail account. That's good. Because God forbid this table is messed up I don't wan to return my tablet and lose the 25 dollars credit.

It is tied to your google play account. I have purchased apps on my Nexus phone and Tablet from the $25 credit.

I'm in Canada (Staples) and I can't collect mine, it keeps saying my card is not accepted for this offer... however, the card is already on my dang account. No $25 but I got Transformers.

That is odd..I got mine from Staples and I'm in Canada too but it worked. Did you sign into your google account on the initial startup on your tablet?

I don't remember the phrase but it when u go pay there's 'spouse to be an option to select the credit. I haven't used mine yet.

Sent from my AWESOME Nexus 7 via Tapatalk 2 :)

Ya, totally. Called Google and they figured it out.. sort of. I have a U.S. CC and am in Canada so the card fails. My only option to collect it is to:

a). Go to the U.S. lol
b). Buy a Canadian prepaid Visa and add it.

Makes no sense, they'll take my money when I buy apps but when they have to give me money, it's all of a sudden an issue lol. Not mad about or anything, but it's just silly.

I swear I'm not an idiot. Yes, I'm coming from iOS but that doesn't mean anything... Where the hell are you guys seeing the Transformers movie and $25 credit? I've looked everywhere I can think of on this thing and I see nothing. The books and magazines aren't there either.

The movie is in the play movies and TV app and the 25 dollar credit should be applied to your Google account. You Should get an email saying

"Your $25.00 Google Play balance is ready to use.

To get you started with your Nexus 7, we've given you $25.00 credit to spend on Google Play. Pick your favorite entertainment from more than 600,000 apps and games, millions of eBooks and songs, thousands of movies, and a growing selection of TV shows and magazines.

Your Google Play balance is ready to use right away: to start, just go to the Google Play store and start shopping. During check out, choose "Google Play balance" as your payment method and enjoy your selection."

The movie is definitely not in my Play Movies app and I never got an email from Google about the $25. Great, now I've gotta get in touch with them. I'll get my money in time to buy some nice Christmas apps.

Did you connect the tablet with your google account when you first turned it on? Maybe connect with your account if you didn't already.

This may be a really stupid question, but regarding the Transformers movie, I realize that I now have access to it via Play Store, but is the movie actually downloaded to my tab when I get it?

(In other words, since I have ZERO interest in the movie, can I delete it to get some space back, or it is just available via the cloud through the Play Store, and won't download anything until I decide to watch it?)

Once you go into the play movies app just hold the movie down and then an option will come up saying remove from this device. You can get rid of it that way

My Nexus 7 came connected to my account. When I turned it on I signed in and it brought all my settings, etc.

Thanks -- I don't mind it being available in play store, but no reason to have it taking up precious space on device!
