2800mAh? Is this a joke?

I don't know why this is a debate. We don't have the same lifestyle and I use my device differently then you do. I stream music back and forth to work. I commute 4 hours a day. I stream music sometimes at work. I use high impedance headphones which use more power. I play games on my phone at work like asphalt 9. That's just for starters. That's without including social media and Android Central and everything else I do.
It's not a debate , it's me annoying you

You should have led with that. Nothing burns through a charge like mobile gaming... There's no phone on the market that will endure a heavy gamer without (at least) a recharge during the day.
If someone tells me there phone doesn't last all I accept what they tell me.

Maybe ROG phone ?
At 6000MaH, even then, no, with cpu-intensive gaming. Similarly, I remember draining Pixel 2 XL battery in just over 90 minutes with Daydream VR.

And so basically, everyone's needs and expectations are different. If you're a moderate user, the 4XL may be more than fine. If your needs are somewhat greater, you may need to move to a beefier battery as with Note 10, 4 XL, etc. If your use exceeds those, realistically you're likely to still be dependent on a recharge at some point.

I agree , I do know games will decrease your battery quickly

Everyone uses their devices different lol. . Also the noise cancelation is on the battery of the headset.. not the phone..

Totally used differently.

I store the music I want to listen to on my phone, I store audiobooks and podcasts I want to listen to on my phone.

I'm on Google Fi and I don't make a lot of money so I opt for local storage. I don't play games on my phone. I read news that I find interesting. That's my use case. Everyone is going to be different and expect different things out of their phone.

I don't see a Pixel ever being a phone for gamers. Although with Stadia.......

My point about the Noise Cancellation is that with NC active it adds impedance to the circuit from the Noise Cancellation amps. The impedance changes from 38ohms to about 160ohms. It's like your truck running on level ground verses going uphill.

So do you have actual data to back that up or assuming?

Yepm any data to backup the power draw or.. again.. assuming?
No I'm not assuming..... I know what I'm talking about. Actually it's pretty common knowledge if you spec out any high end over the ear headphones with noise cancellation or any high impedance headphone.

My whole point in my original post was that minor battery size in the Pixel 4 didn't matter to me because I always have to top off anyway. I explained that was due to my usage habits.

I was publicly chastised for doing a LOT less than what has been going on in this thread......

Can we call a truce and get back to taking about phones now :-)

It is "pre-order" day - lots of phone talk in the works I suspect.

I think we need a "no order phone - no post" rule, yeah, that will work well. - ;)

Is there a pre order thread yet? I'm too lazy to look. Lol

Are you watching the event at 10am? I'll bet they don't mention the 2800mAh battery.

I'm all set watch it, an advantage of being retired. After I get to be sheriff, I'm going to forbid "battery size" talk here in the AC forums, and "price" talk too. Good Luck to me with this plan -
