2800mAh? Is this a joke?

Well I've placed my order with some trepidation..
I'm a huge fan of the pixel phones and I'm going for the pixel 4 from a 2xl.
However Im seriously worried about battery life. There was no mention of an all day battery at the unveiling..
My 2xl at 2 years old still manages a 15hr shift at work with chatting, web surfing and constantly searching for a phone signal whilst it travels 400mile a night...

I didn't want the 4xl as it's bigger than the 2xl and with a military grade drop protection case round it, it would be pushing the 4xl to nearly a 7 inch phone...

So how have the pixel 3 users got on with their battery life in day to day proper use ?

Any hope for the pixel 4 ?

And why why why is the orange not available in 128gb... cheers Google..
To be honest, I have no idea how the 2800mAh Pixel 4 can have a chance of having even comparable battery life to the 3520mAh 2 XL.

Assuming you ran yours hard for about two years, the real capacity should be somewhere around 3200mAh if I had to guess.

That's still 400mAh more than a brand new Pixel 4 that doesn't have any charge cycles.

I doubt that the optimizations of the SD855 are enough to compensate for such a difference in battery capacity.

However of course you'll be getting a much lighter and smaller phone that will have around the same display size.

It’s very similar to iPhone XS 5.8 inch with 2658mAh battery. 90 hertz refresh rate may be the only concern.

This is all done intentionally as a form of forced obcelecance. The smaller the battery the sooner it will wear out and the sooner you'll be forced to upgrade.

I really wanted to see Google hit it out of park and convince me to upgrade my old Pixel 2.

I got hopeful when I saw the $799 base price, but then my hopes were dashed by 2800 mah battery and 64 gb storage. These are just Apple like design decisions and very disappointing. I'd like to be wrong, but I can't see the phone making it all day with this size battery.

They are really trying hard to be like Apple. Missed the days of Nexus line up.

Even with the 64GB. I thought 128GB is the standard with Android. Every other company even midrange offers it.

No wonder that iPhone turned its owners into wall huggers.

My brother in law has only had his XS since February and the damn thing is already at 88% of initial battery capacity (12% decrease in 8 months of usage!!!), and that phone turned him to a wall/power bank hugger.

Trying to push him into a Samsung/Pixel but trying to convert iSheep is a tough task.

Remember: Apple was the last ones to leave the 16gb Apple phones, and go to the 32 GB.

You had problems doing updates with the 16 gb phone cause you had too much on your phone to download the updates and install the new software.

Some people like those in my household kill batteries prematurely by letting them constantly get down to almost nothing or zero. It's not necessarily an iPhone that creates a wall hugger. As far as standby time iPhones are pretty hard to kill.

I had an iPhone XS Max from launch until the 11 Pro Max came out -- my battery was at 100%.

Let's try and not call people "sheep" simply because you don't agree with them. Thanks :).

Let me be more specific. Being an iOS user in itself does not make someone an iSheep.
Buying every single iPhone at launch when the prior one works perfectly fine and not needing any of the features in the newer one is...another story.

In his case, he is utterly dissatisfied with the battery life in his XS (and especially that quick degradation) and yet still won't even consider another option, hence my usage of that term.

And tons of Android people do the same thing. Buy phone after phone..

It doesn't mean anyone is a sheep. It means they have different interests.

Name calling isn’t necessary at all. We all have different likes, situations, incomes, etc. They’re phones for crying out loud. Buy what you want and that goes for everyone. Choice is good!

Spot on.... I don't know why it often becomes a competition and battle of wits.

Not to mention the fact that Apple has just completely flipped the narrative. They have the 11 with amazing battery life, excellent cameras (wide angle anyone) at 699 for the same 64 gb of storage.

And you'll have a apple experience instead of a Google experience . .. just got pick what you want be happy with ,nothing going change what Google put out this year either some like it or don't .

I'll never get device hate.... I will present my opinion and I might provide advice, but if you like something else run with it.
