3 more days left in April and still no HSUPA update! Come Monday May 2, I'm getting the account holder on my plan to call and complain to ATT about this update. If they had said something in generality on when they would give us this update, I would give em a pass on the matter. Since they said April and it's more likely to not happen this month, they are gonna get b*tched out about it. If they could at least tell us that it's almost ready and will be released "shortly" they could save themselves a lot of headaches and pissed of customers blowing up their customer service lines. My wife is studying for a Bachelor's in Business Management and none of what ATT is doing about this is helping to enhance customer perception of this carrier. My experience with this carrier is actually not bad. Been with TMo before, from 2006 to 2007, and they tried hitting my wife up for $1200 on a $600 bill that was already paid at an official store. ATT has been good to us the last 2 years and it looks like circa 2007 T-Mobile. Sorry for such a long post, just wanted to get that off my chest and find out how many of you are gonna call ATT the 2nd of May and complain about the update that never was.

Ive been with att for more than 2 years and love them. i called customer service several times and gotten nice friendly people that solved problems and gave me free batteries. i also have a local store with great people. they all know me cuz im there a lot. but i cant say anything about bad customer service.

but as for the HSUPA, that im frustrated about. i dont care for it because of the hype, i actually noticed it before all the hype. it would take 5 min to send a gmail with a picture cuz of slow uploads and large picture. i also hate att's business tactics. the new 2 gb data plan, no sideloading, no HSUPA, higher pricer for non-commitment phones. but i try to forget about that because i only pay 195 for 5 lines and service is great.

do follow up on what they have to say

I agree that they have great customer service reps, both on the phone and in the store. They unfortunately will be getting the brunt of no update cuz their idiotic business directors will promise something and not deliver when promised. My account holder will actually be able to get someone higher up to complain to. I don't care about upload speeds since I don't do a lot of uploading like other people, but don't promise an update in a particular month and not even say that it has been delayed and not expect customers to take it lying down. I'd prefer getting updated to Gingerbread than getting faster upload speeds.

Motorola has announced that the Atrix will get the update soon. When will we here from HTC and ATT?

It's insane isn't it!!

I work for a large consumer electronics company & in the contact center we face the same issues all the time. The muckity mucks & engineering at HQ are always making promises or setting up odd business practices and then never following thru. At times we honestly feel they don't really care, simply because they don't have to take the calls from the end users.

So with that said, I'd urge anyone calling into AT&T to complain to remember you are talking to front line folks who have no control over these decisions made by AT&T.

I've been with AT&T since they were Cellular One in 1994! They have always had problems here and there, but the best part is they never hesitate to issue "loyalty credits". I will be calling next week asking for more of those!

What's Loyalty Credits?

I've called AT&T CS in the past to compalin about various things and if you push hard enough they'll give you what they call a loyalty credit. I once got a $180 credit because I wasn't getting a discount I was supposed to be getting. The CS rep said I was righ about the credit but couldn't figure out how to get it on my account. So he issued a loyalty credit for the discount times 24 (I had recently renewed my contract). Two months later the discount started showing up on my bill!

Well I guess you won't be complaining now, will you?

lol well, at least not unless we don't get gingerbread with the desire HD and the others in June.

Come to think of it, I could call them and complain that it has been long enough to allow us access to the Amazon Appstore without utilizing SWM.
