3 network sim will not work on unlocked s7 edge

[Android Central Question]

i have a Samsung s7 edge that has been unlocked by EE that i want to use on the 3 network.
For some reason the 3 sim is not recognised on the S7, my husband is on 3 network and his sim will not work either. i have just tried a friends Tesco sim and that works fine, is there an issue with S7s and 3network sims?
