30 days with your note your thoughts

I use a few phones daily (S8+, S7 Edge and Note 8) so mu usage is divided between the three, I easily go for 4-5 hrs screen time over 1.5-2 days standby. No AOD.

It's a good phone, I'm just using my S7 Edge and S8+ as my daily.

I have it always on (when not in a pocket) and haven't noticed any problems. Usually have around 30% left after 16hr day and about 5hr screen on time iirc.
My experience is similar. AOD on all day. Battery is at at least 30 percent (at the least) at the end of the day.

I had a T-Mobile Note 8 for a few weeks and last night I purchased an unlocked Note 8. I prefer the unlocked version better because I'm working in an area where there's weak to no T-Mobile or AT&T service (the huge dead zone near La Crosse, WI) and I have a Verizon prepaid SIM inserted and getting 4G LTE.

With that being said, I love the Note 8. It is, hands down, the best device I have ever used. I thought about picking up the unlocked 256GB iPhone 8 Plus last night, but then I realized I'd be losing a ton of features and thought that was just stupid.

I'm hanging onto my Note 8 until the Note 9 is released next year.

Agree 100%. This is my first phone in a long time that don't make it home without me charging in the car.

Did you set up as a new phone or from a backup?
The reason I'm asking is the first one I had, I setup as a backup and the battery sucked I ended up returning it. I decided to give it another shot and set it up as a new phone. The battery is WAY better now. Kinda weird I know. Fwiw the backup was coming from a s8+.

I love the N8 so much I might actually keep it till the N9. I always upgrade between the S and Notes. But during the time in between I always miss the Note..

3 different phones in a day? I use a 7 plus and note 8 and it's annoying as it is.

New phone as I was coming from an iPhone

I have three unlimited everything lines for $100 on T-Mobile. Don't need three obviously but getting rid of them would be insane since one line would cost very close to $100 today. I really like using the Note 8/S8+ but the S7 Edge is still smaller so it's my daily for now. The S8+ and Note 8 have the same screen size.

Love mine. Mostly run it with QHD and performance settings but turn on power saver when I am at theme parks or other all day events. No real complaints though. It just works.

I did have concerns about scratching but a wallet case and Zagg HD fixed that.

My battery has never gone below 60% during my working day/bedtime. I usually put it to charge around 6am and go to work 7.15am, I have actually got home after a 9 hour shift with 90% left, of course there is the night to come which takes it down further but I'm very happy with the battery.
I'm 100% Happy with my purchase, I know it's not the same for everyone but for me it's all good.

I like it. All good except for the FPS placement. That location just doesn't work for me. I just don't hold the phone in a way that makes that location at all convenient. I thought maybe Iris or face recognition might work as an alternative, but between night time use, glasses on or off, and even my hard hat on or off, seems to confuse it all too often. So, now none of the biometrics are working well for me and wind up using PIN more often than not. Hoping integrated FPS on front will make it to Note 9. All in all, though, I'm satisfied and this will last me to the next Note.

One thing I would like to see. Right now you can set safe zones that disable locking by trigger. I actually want it the other way around. I would like to ENABLE locking by trigger. I know that may sound odd, but I have my reasons.

I think I am good till N10, unless the 9 does a major upgrade.

Definitely not as convenient as the front FPS but making due I've found it easiest when holding the phone in my right hand to use my left index finger to reach behind the phone and authenticate for apps or Samsung pay. It's actually a good position for that. I too can't find a comfortable way to reach it with my right hand while using the phone.

I've used a smartphone since the original color Treo. The Note 8 has BY FAR the best battery life of any smartphone I have ever used. Typically 16hrs+ with 6-8hrs SOT, a few hours of phone calls, and some GPS. The best battery life with the best screen and processor to date, along with waterproofing, microSD, SPen, and all the other Note goodness makes it the best phone ever for me.

Was that the 650 or 700p?
I had the Treo 700p.

I'm very happy with the N8. I came from an S7E, and loved that phone, too. All I really wanted was the S-pen added to the S7E, and I've had been happy. I take lots of notes, so it's an invaluable tool for me. The extra height works well for me, and battery life has been outstanding.

The FPS placement was easy to get used to for me. It's become quite natural to use it. It works far more consistently than the one on my S7E did, too.

My iphone's fingerprint sensor was such a source of frustration for me. Don't miss it at all. Much prefer the geofence unlock on the Note 8.
