300+ Text Message Notifications

Whenever I restart my phone, I get new text notifications from the few group chats I have set up....even though all messages have already been read - sometimes several weeks old. Usually its maybe a dozen or so notifications, but I just restarted my phone and got well over 300 notifications...one at a time. Yeah, that was annoying af.

Any idea what's causing this and how I can make it stop?

Try clearing cache then force stop it , this Samsung messages? See if happening on Google messages

Yes, Samsung Messages. AT&T, S22 Ultra.
