.35 Gingerbread/ICS Kernal

1 Does Wifi & Data work yet?
2 Those of you on the NBB what method did you use to install CWM? (trying to update my how to and dont want to softbrick my phone)

So if the P500 gets the camera working, will this phones camera work as well?

So I thought I'd post a quick setup for people who don't want to browse 28 pages to find just a few links. It's for people with a thrive and want cm9 with ICS and everything working. All links posted here can be found in this thread somewhere.

Use this rom : beta4_funny_sim.zip
Flash this kernel : p505_stock_gb_kernel_old_baseband.cwm.zip - File Shared from Box - Free Online File Storage

That's all I had to do and everything on my Thrive is great. No blackscreen bug either, which I did have while running CM7.
The only thing's not working are the stock live wallpapers. I'm not able to change overclock settings.
I have the exact same setup going on with the same problems you mentioned. You can't oc but if you install a CPU setting app like no frills CPU, you can change the settings there and the changes you make show up in the performance settings. Do you have issues with YouTube and video playbackin general?

I still can't OC past the stock 600mhz with no frills. I can only change the govenor and min speed. And yes video playback is laggy for youtube app and stuff like that. but i haven't tried playing videos off sd.

Guys qualcomm has released the ics drivers for armv6. It's only a matter of time now until we have fully functioning cm9 and ICS roms. BUT we need a proper kernel for OC and other kernel tweaks. CALLING ALL DEVS. PLEASE HELP US.

The funny thing is i'm rocking a sgs2 skyrocket but i gave my phoenix to my girl so i'm still super excited to play with cm9 and ICS.(ICS leaked for skyrocket is pretty buggy so i'm gonna wait for a stable release)

so did kushking or whatever his name was ruin this for everybody by posting this in a different forum? I haven't seen anything from raeyne in a while.

This may ruffle feathers but frankly I don't care.

Seriously guys its the internet if people can't follow instructions on how to install something and we end up answering the same questions 30 times, do you really think people are going to listen to you when you say don't do such and such cause I said so. The second you post anything open source to the internet, its no longer yours, it belongs to all of us and we can do with it as we please within the guidelines of the EULA. Does that mean you don't have a right to say how things are distributed... sorry but, yes, that's exactly what it means. If you want to help then help if you want to use our community as a way to boost your own ego and lord your supposed superiority over us, I believe I speak for most here when I say we don't need you muddying up the waters. So please, if you want to develop a kernel and give it to the community then do so but not with a bunch of your own idealize expectations. The moment you decided to use the Linux kernel is the same moment you decided that your work will be free of charge and free for all to use. Sure you can keep the work to yourself if you want and use it only for your purposes but if you expect to keep some kind of control over your work when you release it, then you have completely missed the point open source and you should seek employment with Apple. If you do good work your work will be appreciated and people will eagerly await what you will do next and heck they might even toss you some cash for your efforts.

To all the good open source developers out there. Keep up the good work and thanks for all you do to help open source computing grow.

To the moderators of this post violates the rules please delete this post and except my apologies.

This is getting to be ridiculous. We should all petition xda to help us. There has to be a dev there willing to help us out? We need a kernel so bad.

Okay guys, i have sent pm's to fserve and francisco basically begging for them to develop a kernel for us. I have offered donations as well. Would you guys consider donating to either of them if they agree to help us? Because honestly it looks like we are going nowhere here.

I already asked fransico and got no reply. Assuming my message ever got through. I have been studying up on what all I need and I think I have made some serious head way thanks to a guy in the #cyanogen channel on freenode. Still going to be a bit before I am building a kernel but I am still working towards that goal and I was planning on building it off of Franco's code. If Fransico decides to do it for us all the better, but Im not giving up on having a .35 kernel till the phone either finally stops turning on or it bursts into flames.

Thats good to know Donavan! If i didnt have four kids i would have probably learned kernel building myself and helped us all out, but its good to hear your looking into it. Thanks!

And i havent gotten a reply from either of them, so?
