3a vs 3a XL

I haven't really followed these at all, being happy with my 3 XL and my wife with her Pixel 3.

But, I'm curious - other than screen size, are there any differences between the Pixel 3a and the 3a XL? If the only difference is between 5.6" and 6" diagonal (just 7%), then why bother?

I used to be into larger smartphones, but I'm over them now. Just want something that fits comfortably in my hands.
