3G fix for Thunderbolt

If you want to know when things are back up and dont mind your battery suffering then switch off eHRPD but leave the phone set to auto CDMA/LTE and you should see LTE come on when its back.

yea I thought about that...I won't be around any place to charge my phone today so I will just have to check AC off and on.

so, assume i did this ##778# trick to get back to vanilla 3g.
but then LTE network is back up and running in a few hours.
would the PhoneInfo dialer code work to switch back to LTE? or do we need to go back into "##778#" menu and change something before editing settings to look for LTE again?

I believe you could just switch back to LTE to see if its on but if it is working then your gonna want to change your 3G settings back to eHRPD for sure.

Anyone refer to post 15 to do this.

Alright, I've tried ##778# at least a half-dozen times now and I keep getting sent back to the dialer. No pop-up or anything. Would running Tesla Coil have anything to do with this or am I overlooking something really simple?

Yes I have heard running AOSP contacts or certain dialers is causing trouble for people. If you can flash the stock dialer back on the phone or if you really need data you can go back to a rosie based rom with no dialer.

Odd, this ROM does use the Sense dialer/contacts. But I figured it was something along those lines - thanks!

So when 4g fixes itsself, just do the reverse of this? Sorry.. I just don't want to be liable for screwing up my own divice.

When I was getting 1x yesterday, I called verizon they told me to do *228 and it screwed my sim up so I got another for free...

Dont want to do it twice

from what i understand--
yes.
when LTE network is back up,
go back into the EPST settings via the Dialer Code and change it back to the Original Modem settings (EHRPD) then Menu to Confirm Changes--at which point it will automatically Reboot the phone

I am in the DC area and have data service at all now. I was 1X until about 9:30 EST.
Anyone else have no service?

Can't you toggle 3G/4G with the App instead of using this dialer method?

3G PRL mode or whatever it is?

I followed these steps and everything did what it was supposed to, but I still have 1X and not 3G. I went back into the dialer thing to see and it shows "enabled" for RevA, so I know the change stuck. Is there anything else I need to do?

Thanks!

ugh.. never mind..... When I had turned off the LTE, I accidentally hit "CDMA only" instead of "CDMA auto (PRL)". fixed, I have 3G now.

Thanks for the fix instructions!

I tried this method on my rooted/BAMF Remix v1.5 TB without success. I'm assuming this won't work on rooted TB's with different ROM's.
