I had a post back on june 15th about waiting for my 3rd LG G6.

Well......My fingerprint sensor on my 3rd G6 died last week. Doesn't register anything. Went into settings to reload fingerprints and found that the setting that used to say "Fingerprints & Security" now just says "Security.

Restarted the phone several times...nothing. Did a factory reset.....nothing.

Then, when I removed my sim card to put into my backup phone, I saw the corner of the sim tray was broke/stuck inside the phone.

Guess I'll be finding out if LG's customer service is any good. Otherwise, Verizon can send it back to LG.

I'm playing with a new V30 in the meantime. If it wasn't for the wide angle camera, I'd probably be switching to ANYTHING ELSE.

I'm so sorry this happened to you! LG's customer service isn't bad! I had to send an email to their customer service team and got a response within a matter of hours.

Hopefully things work out well for you with your V30!

Sorry to hear about you luck. My daughter's G6 (that I bought at launch) is still going strong.

Wish you luck.

Boy, that sounds like the problems I had with my G4 and G5. Knock on wood, no issues with my G6.

I think that's a weak point of the phone's hardware. Back in May when I got my G6 I went through a couple of them until I get a power button that wasn't wonky. Wasn't until the third that the fps worked reliable and the button didn't feel loose.

Sorry to hear about the issues you've been having with your G6s. I've had my G6 for a while now with no issues (knock on wood). I can understand switching to a different phone if your next one is bad.

I emailed LG yesterday. Waiting for a response. I really like the G6, so I hope LG takes care of it. The phone is the perfect size. I really don't notice much difference in speed.

Worse case scenario, I continue to get it repaired until the end of the 2 year warranty.

Please keep us updated! At least the warranty period will remain in effect. So glad LG implemented this.

Received it back. They replaced the sensor and Sim tray. They also repaired the Sim slot.

They also didn't remove my tempered glass screen protector which I appreciated very much.

Phone works great. Keeping it as a backup to my V30.

I'm curious, for LG repair do you send the phone back to them and have to wait for how to get it back?

I'm curious as to how you like the V30 compared to the G6, after using for a while?

My sim tray snapped off into my phone when I was ejecting it the other day. The sim tray is made of cheap plastic and it has jagged edges.

Anywho, I contacted support (sat), received a pretty much canned response (mon). Pretty much I can sent it in for repair if all goes well it’ll be 2 weeks before I get it back. I really just want them to send me a refurbished phone and keep mine, but I don’t think that gonna happen. Also I don’t think it’s going to go well, so if it’s not covered I’ll be stuck with a $20 diagnostic fee and whatever else they tack on that they deem needs to be fixed.

Definitely won’t be without insurance next time, I hate being at the mercy of a company

Meanwhile I’m using my iPad as my phone and I’m searching for a Samsung phone. Lol

Hope you get your phone back soon! LG customer service is... Interesting. When my G3's battery was pretty much corrupt or trying to corrupt my sanity (I loved that phone otherwise), they told me to send it in... But I knew it would cost a fair bit, so I put up with it until I could get a new phone. Insurance is definitely a good way to go.

I prefer the G6 format factor. It feels better in the hand. A little heavier and one hand friendly. But I like the battery life, screen, and camera on the V30 better.

3rd wt* have you been doing with the phones ?
1st one bricked the day after I bought it. The 2nd one had a charging port issue. Shorted out or? 3rd one had the fingerprint issue. Haven't dropped or abused any of them. Use a case. Just a lucky guy with the G6.
