3rd party battery and NFC

Please excuse the ignorant question, but is NFC embedded in the battery or the phone itself? If I buy a 3rd party battery and it doesn't specifically mention NFC, will this mean NFC will no longer work?

NCF is a separate chip in the phone. You can replace the battery and it will have no effect on NFC.
