3rd Party Keyboards - Lag when typing first couple letters?

Currently using SKB Pro and have used others as well.

No matter what 3rd party keyboard I use, I almost always experience a slight lag when typing the first and second letter, then the lag goes away.

The stock keyboard does not exhibit this behavior.

Anybody else experience this? Any ideas as to why its happening?

Yup I have a few keyboards as well and it happens on all.

I think its because the stock is so integrated with the OS that it always ready to roll. Whereas the others have to load up quickly before use.

I noticed this too with the gingerbread keyboard.

Hmm...I don't see it with Smart Keyboard Pro.

Hopefully android 2.3 will bring a lot of minor fixes like this.
