A word from your local moderator/fellow NS4G member :)

Please don't create a ton of threads if this does happen tomorrow. I will setup an official update thread and a bug/complaint thread and we can work from those instead of threads running wild...

Thanks everyone...

Paul what problems are you talking about?

Not sure but I know the devs have been waiting for the official source/radio and all from an actual "NS4G ICS UPDATE"..... So I'm sure this will make a few people happy in the dev community.

For the non rooted community they should be very excited to finally get their official OTA update to ICS.

Off the top of my head, data dropping randomly, 4g/3g hand off wonky, a few others I can't think of. Hopefully this turns out true.

So.. I guess this means that with the roll out of ICS that the new GNexus will be out with in the next few weeks.

I highly doubt it, ICS on our device has nothing to do with the GN, Verizon's supposed exclusivity may still come into play, and they don't have much of an LTE network to launch it with. Summer is my guess.

Wow, and just when I was Paul's kewl top secret test agent....
Lol! I'm very excited to hear this news. I was just at a pre-screening for act of valor(amazing movie) and I look at my phone and I see this..... this is my second Christmas :D

At least now all the dissatisfied NS4G users will finally be contempt

I hope so. Nothing against devs but these rooms have been loopy. Lol. Especially with the back light.

Really? I haven't tried them all but I've had fantastic success with the dooderbutt roms. I've been running them as my daily driver for a few months now. No issues at all for me.

This may be a stupid question, but ive had the ICS 4.0.4 leak for a while now and just read this on the front page that the OTA might be in the next few hours, anyways i was wondering if the leak would be any different than the OTA like maybe they fixed some internal bugs. Should i use my nandroid back-up of my 2.3.6 and get the OTA later today or just stick with the leak? Thanks

I would imagine the official release will have some bug fixes, maybe even a new radio...

I am trying *#*#CHECKIN#*#* but it is failing, anyone else getting that?

EDIT: CHECKIN succeeded... system up to date. Boo.

Neither of my two kids NS4G's had any updates this morning when I checked for them. My son can't wait to have ICS so he can do the Face Unlock feature.

I am still hoping my Epic 4G Touch gets the update soon as well or at the very least a good CM9 ROM.

I hope they fixed the proximity sensor issues since the last "leak". Every time I would take the phone away from my face after a call the screen would just stay off for a good 10 seconds. Wasn't an issue with 4.0.3 just 4.0.4 and not rom specific.

Don't get me wrong. I've been using ics roms since the first one dropped and haven't gone back to gb. Couldn't do it. But there are some funky things going on sometime and I imagine its not as fast as the official will be.

Next to my other nexus with gb my girlfriend uses it blows the doors off mine.

Will I be able to get my NS4G updated without service - just over WiFi? I want to get it updated so I can sell it (migrated away from Sprint...)

Anyone who knows anything about Android knows that they can root and upgrade whenever they choose.. I dont think not having ICS on your phone will decrease its resale value.
