4.1.1 on new tab 2 10.1

Fyi, I don't know if this was true with ICS or not, but in 4.1.1 for the Tab 2, you can disable three 4th soft button at the bottom.. used to always bump the screenshot button when hitting the spacebar.. Now that button is gone!

I'm not in front of my tablet more but I believe the setting is here:
Settings -> Display -> Quick Launch Buttons

Yesterday when I turned on my Galaxy Tab 2 (U.S.) I noticed that my Tab was downloading the software for Jellybean, but when it asked if I wanted to install, I keep telling it 3 hours. I'm uncertain and afraid to upgrade because everything is perfect in ICS and from what I've read, some of my favorite features aren't available. First, they got rid of the email widget I heard and I used that all the time as I have 3 email accounts and have them all sent to that email and I can check them easier. They also got rid of the screenshot button, although I found out that even in ICS all you have to do is hold down the power button at the same time as the down volume button to take a picture. Not as much a big deal, but why did Android go backwards? My main concern over all the above mentioned is compatibility with apps. I don't know which apps may not be compatible or which apps may act funny or not right as a result of the upgrade. I love using Rocket Player and Isyncr for music and hopefully that won't change. Another issue is they removed 2 homescreens and now you can only have 5 to choose from instead of 7. Again, why go backwards. Plus, they took the time and battery meter and put them up top, normally no big deal, but now they are only half the size and it's harder to see. I don't mind the notifications having to be pulled down like a curtain from the top since my phone, which has ICS has always been like that. It's weird how the same OS can be different on two different devices. Anyway, I'm looking for any suggestions on whether I should upgrade, or is there a way to get rid of that reminder every 3 hours to upgrade and also is anyone having problems with their apps working properly after upgrade? I'm really scared to mess with a great thing.

If you have the 10 inch tab 2, they did NOT move the notifications. They're still in the bottom right. Don't know where you heard otherwise.

Also, if you need more than 5 home screens, download Nova launcher or Apex Launcher. They're much better home screens than Samsung includes anyway. You'll love them.

I have the 7 inch and the notifications now are dragged down from top center like a blind. No biggie on that, but I'm concerned about what I'm reading from others about apps freezing/not working right and the email app supposedly doesn't support multiple email accounts anymore. I'm sticking with ICS for as long as it'll let me. I just wish I knew of a way to find the downloaded JB file and delete it so that it doesn't keep asking me every 3 hours if I want to install it. Any ideas on that?

Just wondering why you're posting this in three Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 forum when there's a forum for your specific model.

Because when I typed in Jellybean for Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7", there were no forums. The only one that came up was this one.

Gotcha.. Just wanted to make clear that Samsung released two different kinds of firmware for the 7" vs the 10", and if you complain in the 10" forum that your 7" tablet's firmware is bad, you're complaining to the wrong crowd.. There IS a general Galaxy Tab 2 forum:

That might be a little more helpful to your needs.. Not sure.

I have noticed that Words WF app does not work correctly even after uninstall and reinstall. Being a lefty, the Google now launch is abit inconvenient for scrolling, but overall the pinch/zoom works better and is generally faster.

What model do you have? It works perfectly on my Tab 2 10.1.

Weird, like I said, no problems here. Just thought I'd ask since some visitors too this forum don't have that exact model.

Did the upgrade from 4.0.4 a couple of weeks ago. Had issues with the USB connection reading thumb drives and camera cards. After doing about 4 "factory resets") finally got it to read camera cards of any size and thumb drives of 4GB or below. Cannot get it to mount thumb drives of 8GB or greater at this time. No clue why it will no longer read the larger thumb drives. They all worked fine from May 2012 until the 4.1.1 update/upgrade in January 2013.

Other than that, no issues

A couple other new features on the 4.1.1 update:
Pop-up video player like on Galaxy Note - awesome
Lockscreen shortcuts - might have been there before?
Fixed bluetooth media playback issues I was having
