4.2.2 at beta stage?

1st we get a awesome update to our camera which will make all previous camera comparisons useless now I read 4.2.2 is well on its way! Did someone say HTC don't have regular updates?

The update in that video is NOT 4.2.2. That's something completely different.

hmm...well, hard to tell what the differences are. but, if my eyes are viewing this correctly, seems like more light is coming in and the images look to have a bit more detail.

I don't think it's a huge difference, but there seems, at least to my eyes, a difference for the better (yes, very subjective). For one, the colors are not as washed out and do look more vibrant. And second, there is a bit more detail taking away some of the "haziness."

I thought the writing on the wine bottle was noticeably more legible in the updated version. I think the vibrancy of colors is just about right now, so my only worry is if this update pushes it a bit too far. Overall I did like the updated photos more, but in a couple cases I thought the colors were bordering on too vivid.

I'm guessing that's more so because the 'before' pic is so bland.

I kinda like the 'after' pics. They look more vivid, and do look a lot sharper/focused at places, at least in that video

Looks like a great improvement The camera looked pretty washed before -- pictures look more vivid after the update.

Could it also be a case of an older international unit vs. my just purchased t-mobile version? Some of the pics I've taken have been very, bordering on (but not quite) too, vivid. All in all I'm happier with the camera than I thought I would be given the mediocre responses some reviewers have given it. I'm much closer to the very positive opinion anandtech had on the quality of the camera.
