This is for those who didn't want to go through the process of updating. (Rooted users)
Or those who think that the version they're currently on is fine so there is no need to update.
This post is also to take some of the negativity away from this board.
I was recently debating whether or not it would be worth going through the trouble of backing up all my data, resetting my phone, flashing newest factory image 4.2.2 and then re-rooting and restoring my phone, tablet, gf's phone and tablet. I thought, it's just a 0.0.1 update, is it really worth the trouble of spending hours updating several devices? KLP is right around the corner, I should just wait till then to get it all out of the way.
Well I had a day off and went through with it anyway. I did run into a few problems and the whole process did take me a lot longer to do than I care to admit. But I gotta say, boy was the update worth it.
Battery life galore, this update restored the battery life on my Nexus 7 to what it was like before 4.2, but seems to have also improved it! They really did a number on fixing the wakelock/sleeping problems. The battery life really is like night and day. Not only that, but for the first time in months I was able to use bluetooth on my Nexus 7 without issues. This battery life improvement was also very prevalent in my Nexus 4. I thought I had good battery life on my Nexus 4 before 4.2.2, but after updating, it really is great.
If you are on the fence on whether or not you should update. Do it. You won't be disappointed... Unless you're one of the few who have LTE.
