4.2.2 OTA Tomorrow

What did it do to the Evo LTE?

There were a lot of little things but the biggest for me was battery life. I get great battery life on my Evo and post update many people were complaining about battery. That and htc hub was gone (not a bug really but i liked it)

You can but as soon as you log back into Facebook, it puts it right back into the gallery. It's little things like this that drove people to Samsung and Apple. Android is supposed to be open. When they go integrating things that can't be changed, that kid of defeats the purpose. If I want to see facebook pics, I'll log into facebook.

I'm just used to being able to set my android phones up the way I want. The gallery section can get pretty cluttered as it is if you take alot of pictures. I have a boatload of pics on my phone and I keep them in separate albums. I don't like opening my gallery app and seeing pics posted by someone I don't even know.

I think the black bar should be kept. As apps are updated it will appear less and less frequently, but the user will always know if a menu exists.
That's the beauty of HTC's approach in 4.2.2. It's a toggle, so if you'd like you can leave it exactly as it works now, long pressing Home brings up Google Now, menus are represented by the black bar menu.

With a custom rom, I've really enjoyed not seeing the black bar and being able to call up menus with just a hold on the back button.

I honestly do not know why people would actually WANT the screen real estate to be shrunk for something you seldom use, but to each's own. I rather just assume an app has a menu until proven otherwise. Especially since most apps I have seen do have a menu. Guess I am just not seeing the big deal here.

I hear ya. To be honest there's been a lot made out of this "issue" and I just don't get it. The black bar is not a big deal and I guess it wouldn't be a significant problem to try a menu gesture just to find there was no menu.

Some nice updates. But I sure wish I had the option to make Blinkfeed an option and a way to remove Facebook from the gallery. Those two things drive me nuts.
